A new settlement “Ramath Hashophet” (“Judge’s Heights”) named in honor of Judge Julian W. Mack of the U.S. Court of Appeals, prominent leader of American Jewry, was formally opened here today.

The new colony, covering about 5,000 dunams of land, is situated not far from the settlement “Ain Hashophet” established in 1937 in honor of the late Justice Brandeis. Sixty-seven families are already settled in Ramath Hashophet.
