Dr. Moses Hadas, a leading classics scholar and professor of Greek at Columbia University, last night received the third annual Mark Van Doren Award given by the students of the University, for “zealous scholastic leadership, devotion to intellectual development and humility.” Dr. Hadas, who was born in Atlanta, Ga., in 1900, received rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He has been a member of the Columbia University faculty since 1925.
