Israel’s Ambassador to Britain and its Interior Minister spoke today of their country’s resolve to remain strong in face of Arab and Soviet threats until a genuine peace in the Middle East is achieved. Ambassador Michael Comay and Dr. Joseph Burg addressed the opening meeting of a membership campaign conducted by the Mizrachi Federation of Great Britain. Chief Rabbi Immanuel Jakobovits of the British Commonwealth and Michael Fidler, chairman of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, also spoke. Ambassador Comay said, “Israel has no peace yet, but it will not go under. No combination of Arab armies, with or without Russia, will put Israel out of business.” Dr. Burg said, “We are harder now and we are more resolved not to become the subject of eulogies, like Biafra has become. We depend on ourselves and we know that only a strong Israel will obtain a just peace.”
