The Combined Jewish Appeal of Greater Boston closed its 60th anniversary campaign here tonight with a “Salute to Workers” dinner at which general chairman Louis P. Smith announced that the campaign had received a total of $4,624,000 this year. The figure represents $103,000 more than was raised last year and the campaign total is the highest since 1951.
Funds raised by the Combined Jewish Appeal support a network of 201 agencies, including the United Jewish Appeal, the Associated Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Greater Boston and scores of national, overseas and Israel institutions.
