Denying the press reports that the commission that is negotiating for the Agudath Israel’s affiliation with the Jewish Agency for Palestine has met, the executive of the Agudath Israel, world Orthodox organization, announces that the commission will meet early in November. At the same time, the executive of the Agudath notes that, because Jewish education in Palestine is under the control of the Jewish National Council, the Agudath considers that the executive’s chief condition for entering the Agency is unfulfilled so long as the financing of Jewish education in Palestine remains an Agency affair.
The Agudath executive also points out that cooperation between the Agudath Israel and the Jewish Agency is possible on political and economic questions without the Agudath joining the Jewish Agency.
