A plea on behalf of several thousand Jewish immigrants, already in possession of American visas, encamped in the various ports of Europe, was made today to Commissioner General of Immigration of the United States, W.W. Husband, who is participating in the international emigration conference here.
The Commissioner General conferred with representatives of the Jewish Emigration Directorate on the matter, and assured the delegates that he would shortly proceed to the various part for the purpose of inquiring into the situation, in conjunction with the respective American Consulates.
The question was also raised as to the possibility of giving preference in the quota to those immigrants already en route.
