The establishment of a committee on relations to facilitate co-operation between the Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Joint Distribution Committee of America in their separate money-raising campaigns beginning with the New Year was announced to-day through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
The committee on relations between the campaign to be conducted early in 1931 by the Joint Distribution Committee, on the one hand, and the American Palestine Campaign and the Jewish Agency on the other, the announcement says, has been established, with Mr. Joseph C. Hyman as Secretary of the new committee. An organisation meeting was held on December 29th., 1930, and problems affecting the conduct of the two campaigns were considered in a preliminary way.
The members of the committee who were appointed by Mr. Felix M. Warburg as Chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee and Dr. Cyrus Adler, as Chairman of the Provisional Committee of the American members of the Jewish Agency respectively, are:
For the Joint Distribution Committee, Messrs. Paul Baerwald, David M. Bressler and Alexander Kahn; for the American Palestine Campaign of the Jewish Agency, Judge William M. Lewis, Dr. Solomon Lowenstein and Mr. Morris Rothenberg. The function of this committee will be to promote harmonious relations between the two organisations in their separate fund-raising activities and to dispose of questions and issues that may develop prior or during the course of the campaigns throughout the country.
