An advisory committee to provide guidance for Jewish communities where the question of religious instruction in the public school system arises was approved yesterday at the conclusion here of a plenary session of the National Community Relations Advisory Council. It will be established jointly with the Synagogue Council of America.

The meeting, which was attended by 80 delegates from six national organization and 20 Jewish communities throughout the country, adopted a resolution calling for the establishment of a permanent Fair Employment Practice Commission with power to enforce its orders in the courts. A copy of the resolution was sent to President Truman, all members of Congress and the chairman of the Democratic and Republican parties. The council urged an expansion of programs for the elimination of discrimination in employment, stressing that such activities must be conducted on full-time basis.

A report by Judge David Rose, Boston — based on information gathered by the American Jewish Committee, the American Jewish Congress, the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith and the Jewish Labor Committee — said that organized anti-Semitic activity had decreased sharply during the year. The report characterized as “oritical.”, however, current discrimination in education, housing, employment and recreational facilities. The following officers were re-elected: Henry Epstsin, New York, chairman; Aaron Droock, Detroit, and Bernard P. Kopkind, New Haven, vice-chairmen; Bernard H. Trager, Bridgeport, secretary; and D. Beryl Manisahswitz, Network treasurer.
