The East German Radio, in a broadcast in Arabic language beamed to Arab countries severely attacked Israel today, and charged that the trial of Adolf Eichmann, the notorious Nazi leader, was conducted in Jerusalem merely for “imperialistic” reasons.
“The Zionists have utilized the Eichmann trial in a perverse Zionist fashion,” the broadcast said. “They alleged to the world that the State of Israel is the protector of Jewish interests throughout the world and that it behooves Jews to hasten to it from every direction, even though they would be going there to stand over the corpses and ruins of others.”
“Israel,” the broadcast asserted, “is something created by imperialism. The state has been set up as an imperialist bridgehead in the heart of the Arab world. West German imperialism, the successor of the Hitlerite regime, is extending to Israel every possible assistance and giving it annually billions of marks on the pretext of compensation for Jewish victims of Nazism.”
The broadcast charged also that France, America and West Germany “helped Israel to obtain rockets for use against the neighboring Arab countries.”
