Frol R. Kozlov, Leningrad Communist leader elevated to the new Soviet Presidium in the present shake-up of the Communist Party in the USSR “played an appreciable role in the setting of the anti-Semitic ‘doctors’ plot” in early 1953. the New York Times reported today.
Kozlov was the author of an article in 1953 dealing with “infiltration by Jewish bourgeois nationalists in the Soviet Union and the menace of these elements,” the Times said
Stalin used the “doctors’ plot,” in which a group of leading Russian doctors. most of them Jewish, were charged with plotting the death of a number of key Soviet leaders is an excuse for liquidation of Jewish institutions in Russia. The doctors were released immediately after Stalin’s death and completely rehabilitated.
