Thousands of workers marked May Day yesterday in parades and meetings in this city, Haifa and many smaller towns throughout Israel.

Here and elsewhere the Mapai, Mapam and Communists held separate demonstrations with the Sneh group joining the Communists. Even in all-Arab Nazareth the international workers’ holiday was marked by two separate demonstrations, one by the Communists–who celebrated their recent electoral triumph in Nazareth–and one by the left-wing Mapam Party.
