At the eighth Conference of the Ukrainian Communist Party, now in session, M. Kwiring, the President, in his address, spoke against the idea of an autonomous Jewish Republic.
The question which has been raised in Moscow, he said, for the creation of a Jewish Republic by setting aside a certain tract of land for colonization exclusively by Jews has no basis to it. We are not against the formation of one or another Republic of a national minority, but the political question involved in a Jewish Republic-to collect the Jews into one place-that is not logical. That savours of Zionism.
