Comparison of the movement for reforming the calendar with the pre-war movement in the United States for the enactment of prohibition was drawn by Congressman Sol Bloom of New York addressing the Anglo-Jewish Preachers Conference on calendar reform. Congressman Bloom warned the Anglo-Jewish preachers not to underestimate the danger to the fixity of the Sabbath. It is still possible that the calendar reform will be realized. No one in the United States ever thought that prohibition would become enacted into a law. It is necessary to continue the campaign of opposition until the nations of the world appreciate the seriousness of the matter. A strong stand is essential against the proposed calendar reform. American Jewry is united in its opposition to the attempted change.
