Complete order has been restored in the town of Kovel, where on Friday Polish rowdies attacked Jews while the latter were bathing in the river. All of the twelve Jews, who were arrested and jailed after having defended themselves and repulsed the attackers, have been freed.
The chief of police of Kovel stated yesterday that the riots of Friday were not of a serious character. Only a group of students who were in Kovel on their vacation, he said, participated in the attacks on the Jews.
As a result of these attacks, more than 40 Jews were injured, many seriously, when gangs of hooligans attacked the Jewish quarter of Kovel. The hooligans used revolvers, knives and sticks. The windows in many Jewish houses and shops were smashed and
