Arrangements have been completed for emigration to America of 250 German Jewish children, it was announced yesterday by Dr. Solomon Lowenstein, chairman of the German Jewish Children’s Aid Incorporated. The first group of twenty will sail from Germany shortly.
Present plans provide that these children who range from six to fifteen years of age, will be placed in private homes in various parts of the country, under the supervision of professional social workers. They will be educated here and trained in vocations that will aid them in earning their livelihoods when they grow to manhood and womanhood. The children, it was stressed, are not being brought here for legal adoption, as many of them have both of their parents.
