An outstanding program of Jewish music will be presented this evening at Carnegie Hall under the auspices of Mailamm-Young Judaea for the benefit of both organizations.
Included on the program are:
Louis Gruenberg, Composer of Emperor Jones; Szigeti, International Violinist; Nina Koshetz, Mildred Kreuder, The Stradivarius and Musical Art Quartets in a joint number; Didjah in Palestinian dances, a spectacular performance directed by Ruth St. Denis and a ballet of 30 in “Song of Songs” and the “Battle Dance of Jericho” by Moussorgski; the Jewish Workers’ Alliance Chorus of 90 under the direction of Leo Low — a 4 pianists ensemble — Harrison Potter, Sidney Sukoenig, David Barnett and Pierre Luboshutz.
Among the box holders are Judge Irving Lehman; Dr. and Mrs. Louis I. Newman; Mrs. Sol Rosenbloom; Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Rocker; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Y. Palitz; Congressman and Mrs. William W. Cohen.
Mr. and Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, who were scheduled to be present, will not attend, owing to the death of Mrs. Warburg’s mother, Mrs. Jacob H. Schiff.
Newly-elected officers for 1933 of the Upper New York State Region of Senior Hadassah who were installed at the annual meeting in Rochester are: Honorary President, Mrs. Eisenstein, Schenectady: President, Miss Celia Bloom, Rochester: Vice-Presidents, Mrs. I. Lasser, Buffalo; Mrs. Earl I. Freshman, Syracuse; Mrs. Bernard Cherenin, Binghamton; Recording Secretary, Mrs. S. Joshua Cohn, Utica; Corresponding Secretary, Miss Mary Polakoff, Rochester; Treasurer, Mrs. G. Swire, Albany; Auditor, Miss Fanny Goldsmith, Rochester.
