Members of the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine met here today and reviewed the problem of Palestine Arab refugees who fled the country after the outbreak of hostilities last year. Also on the agenda were a review of the Commission members’ 15-day tour of the Arab capitals and Israel, preparation of a progress report to U.N. Secretary-General Trygve Lie and consideration of a proposal to call a conference of Arab Government officials to study the Arab refugee problem.
A communique issued after today’s session also revealed that William H. Tuck, International Refugee Organization director-general, is expected to arrive here from Geneva shortly in order to discuss the Arab refugee question with the Commission.
