Condemning the Nazi pogroms, Prof. F.G. Murray, president of the League of Nations Union, today advised Jews outside of Germany not to assist in payment of German demands for enormous sums which he described as “pure blackmail” that would simply encourage repetition of the demands. Prof. Murray said he would love to see a Jewish national home in Palestine and a Jewish republic somewhere under the protection of the British Empire.

Fifteen of England’s most prominent attorneys signed a letter to The Times which declares that the persecution of Jews in Germany “offends the fundamental principle of any code of jurisprudence known to the civilized world.” Lord Mount Temple resigned today as chairman of the Anglo-German Fellowship in protest against “the treatment of Jews in Germany.”
