Condition of Yemenite Jews Grows Worse; Arabs Force Orphan Conversions

The condition of the Yemenite Jews, long oppressed in their out-of-the-way country, is growing worse, state reports which have been received here. Arab tribes carry off orphans and press them into the Islamic religion. When the Yemenite Jews try to withstand the Arabs, they are beaten and often arrested.

If the Jews attempt to leave the country, their houses are immediately confiscated.
