The Conference of Jewish Organizations concluded a two-day meeting here last night after stressing the need to obtain for Soviet Jewry rights equal to those given other nationalities in the USSR.
The conference also expressed concern over the Moroccan Government’s failure to allow Israel-bound emigration to resume. In a resolution, the meeting condemned the bombing of two synagogues this week in the United States, but voiced confidence that President Eisenhower and the American people “would not tolerate a repetition of such incidents. “
More than 30 delegates, representing nine Jewish national and international organizations, participated in the closed session at the Mayfair Hotel. The meeting was convened by a three-man presidium consisting of Rabbi Joachim Prinz, president of the American Jewish Congress, Barnett Janner, chairman of the Board of Deputies of Great Britain, and Philip Klutznick, president of B’nai B’rith. Dr. Nahum Goldmann presented a concise political report.
The informal conference of organizations which have common programs was founded by Dr. Goldmann in 1957. Participating in the meeting here were B’nai B’rith, the Board of Deputies of Great Britain, the Board of Deputies of South Africa, the American Jewish Congress, the World Jewish Congress, the Council of Australian Jewry, DAIA, the Jewish Labor Committee and the Canadian Jewish Congress.
