The Central Conference of American Rabbis in convention here has adopted a resolution on the subject of peace favoring the Levenson-Borah plan of outlawing war, rejecting the non-resistance theory. While the conference is opposed to wars of political and economic imperialism, it holds that wars for liberty and justice are justifiable.
It favors the creation of an agency for information concerning international affairs, and is also in favor of a referendum before the declaration of war. It calls for the adherence of the United States to the World Court and to the provisions of the international conference on the limitation of armament held several years ago in Washington.
The conference also declared itself in favor of a Rabbis committee on peace, with a view to the ultimate formation of an international Jewish Commission of Peace.
