Endorsing the demand for a Jewish Army to fight under British Command, in Palestine or wherever the exigencies of war may require, a hundred authors, clergymen, educators, army officers, Consuls, Congressmen, Senators and business executives, have singed a statement issued today by the Committee for a Jewish Army. The Committee will hold its Inaugural Conference in Washington next Thursday, December 4. “It is a most tragic commentary on the leadership of the democratic nations, in the struggle against Hitlerism, that the offer of a Jewish Army to fight under the British command has been rejected,” the statement declares.
