The 125th anniversary of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun here was observed this week-end at a reconsecration service by Dr. Israel Goldstein, rabbi of the Congregation since 1918. Anniversary observances will continue throughout the entire month of November.
The Congregation received messages of congratulation from President Truman, President Chaim Weizmann of Israel and from the chief rabbis of many countries. Messages were also received from prominent Protestant and Catholic clergymen, including Francis Cardinal Spellman, and Bishop John S. Stamm, president of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America.
