Hardwick Peres, son of the first rabbi of the congregation and since 1885 a member of the board of Congregation Children of Israel was elected honorary president of the congregation at its annual meeting. Dr. Louis Levy was reelected president and David Gensburger, ninety years old, and for seventy-two years a member of the congregation, was elected to an honorary life membership.
