Members of the congregation of Temple Beth-El of this city have filed suit in Bristol County Superior court, Taunton. Mass., against the Thomas A Elstron Wrecking Company of Boston, seeking to recover $75,000 as a result of the Fall River fire of Feb. 2. The wrecking company was dismantling the old Pocasset mill in this city, where the fire started.
The members of the congregation charge that the fire which destroyed their temple spread from the Posasset mill. The fire, they charge, was caused by negligence of the wrecking company.
The synagogue was the only house of worship to be razed by the great fire that wiped away the heart of the business section here.
