A bill introduced by Rep. Abraham J. Multer, providing for the issuance of a special postage stamp honoring the late Col. David Marous, a here of the Israel war, has been referred to the House Committee on Post Office and Civil Service.
Col. Marous, a West Point graduate and wartime Provost Marshal of the U.S. 27th Infantry Division, was killed on active service with the Israel Army on June 10, 1948. Rep. Multer asked that a stamp bearing Col. Marous’ likeness be issued and placed on sale in Col. Marous’ home borough, Brooklyn, N.Y. one day before it is made available throughout the country.
