A resolution calling on Congress to condemn Soviet anti-Semitism has been introduced in the House by Rep. Hugh J. Addonizio, of New Jersey.
The resolution declares that the Communist actions violate provisions in the preamble to the United Nations Charter which reaffirm faith in “fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men.”
The resolution likens the Soviet policy to Hitlerism, charges it violates the UN Chater and calls on the United States to raise the issue in the UN General Assembly. A similar resolution was introduced by Rep. Emanuel Celler recently.
The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, through its president, Dr. Lev Dobriansky, today issued a statement condemning Soviet anti-Semitism and asserting that “the present Red attempt to inflame anti-Semitism among the youth of the Ukraine will gain little ground. ” He expressed the belief that “no decent Ukrainian would accept it and be a party to it.”
