Congressman Leonard Farbstein, New York Democrat, today submitted to the House of Representatives for approval the draft of a resolution in support of the declaration issued by the U.N. Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.

“This declaration is a fine statement and delineation of the rights of minorities the world over,” Rep. Farbstein said, “I feel very strongly that Congress should act affirmatively to support this most important declaration directed towards freedom of thought and religion, Now is the time to reaffirm our faith in all fundamental human rights, in the dignity and inherent worth of the human individual, and the tolerance that must be practice., by all nations.”

Congressman Farbstein’s resolution, if adopted, would express “the no use of the Congress that the United Nations should forthwith adopt a universal declaration calling for the elimination of all religious intolerance and all discriminatory practices against religious and ethnic groups.”
