Replying to a statement attributed to Foreign Minister Micescu yesterday that the Rumanian Government differentiated between post-War and pre-war Jewish residents, the World Jewish Congress executive committee today declared that the Government’s anti-Semitic measures referred to all Jews. The committee cited particularly the decree forbidding Jews to employ Christian maids under 40 years of age. It also pointed out that persons regarded by Micescu as immigrants were in reality old inhabitants of former Austrian, Russian, and Hungarian provinces and therefore Rumanian citizens in the sense of the minorities treaty.
