Three top Congressional leaders will be the guest speakers at the opening session next Monday in Washington of the leadership meeting sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. They will include: Senators Robert Dole (R., Kans.), chairman of the Republican National Committee; and Stuart Symington (D., Mo.) chairman of the subcommittee on the Middle East of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee; and Rep. Gerald R. Ford (R., Mich.), Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. They will speak following an opening address by Dr. William Wexler, chairman of the Presidents Conference.
Top community leaders from throughout the country have been invited to attend the meeting along with representatives of each of the 25 organizations composing the Presidents Conference. More than 100 Jewish leaders are expected in Washington. On Tuesday, the leadership will visit influential Senators and Representatives with whom appointments are now being set up.
