Mrs. Mary Prag, dean of the San Francisco Board of Education and mother of Congresswoman Florence Kahn, celebrated her eighty-eighth birthday here this week.
Despite her years, Mrs. Prag “celebrated” her natal day by attending the weekly meeting of the school board of which she has been a member since 1922. She was the recipient of good wishes from city officials and from hosts of friends.
Mrs. Prag began her service with the school department as a teacher in 1864. For a number of years she was vice-principal of Girls’ High School.
