Commenting on a two-year report recently completed by the Connecticut Interracial Commission, Bowles said that the record of discrimination of the state’s primate colleges was a “rather dismal” one and contrasted their record with that, of the University of Connecticut. College applications of only 41 percent of Jewish students were accepted as compared with 71 percent for White Protestants, the Commission’s report disclosed.
