Town and city officials in Connecticut were urged during the week-end by Mrs. Winnifred McDonald, secretary of state, to extend voting hours in local elections on Oct. 3–the date on which Yom Kippur will be observed this year–to enable Jewish voters to cast their ballots after the conclusion of the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Election officials in several towns were understood to be preparing to extend voting hours from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
