The prosecution of Alan S. Moyler of West Reading, Connecticut, on Federal charges of postal violations in anti-Semitic mailings was assigned today to Assistant United States Attorney Arnold Markle.
Moyler has admitted he mailed anti-Semitic letters in the Westport area over a two-year period to Jewish residents. Some of the packages he mailed included dead rodents. He was arrested on a variety of local, state and Federal charges three weeks ago after a two-year probe by postal inspectors and state and local police aided by the regional office of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation League.
Westport authorities deferred prosecution on local charges until the Federal charges are acted on. Moyler will be arraigned in U.S. District Court in New Haven but a date has not yet been set.
