A group of Conservative rabbis left from Kennedy Airport for Israel today on a three-week tour under the auspices of Histadrut, the Israel Federation of Labor and Cooperatives.
The rabbis will participate in dialogues with the country’s leading intellectuals, and will address town meetings in Israel’s new development areas, meetings in factories and communal settlements, and assemblies of Israel’s working and student youth. The purpose is to get a feeling of grass roots sentiment on cultural matters of mutual concern to the people of Israel and American Jewry.
