Consideration of Israel’s Arms List “going Forward” in Washington

Consideration of the arms list submitted by Israel is “going forward” at both the State and Defense Departments, State Department spokesman Lincoln White said today. He added that he had no information that any definite decisions had been taken.

Informed sources here indicated today that British Prime Minister Anthony Eden may come to the United States early in 1956 to discuss anti-Communist strategy in the Middle East, including the Egyptian situation, with President Eisenhower. Officially, however, State Department spokesman Henry Suydam said he had no information on such a visit.

Brig. Kadhim Abadi, commander of the Iraqi Air Force will arrive here this weekend to tour U.S. Air Force installations and view U.S. jet aircraft and aerial weapons with a view to strengthening the Iraqi Air Force. Iraq receives free military aid from the United States under the grant-in-aid program.
