Calling for constant vigilance by American Jews against the insidious propaganda of Hitlerism, Dr. Isaac M. Rubinow, international secretary of B’nai B’rith, told an audience at Temple Beth Zion that their “greatest hope” was the recognition by the American people that Nazism “is not a movement against the Jews alone.”
The meeting was sponsored by the local order of B’nai B’rith in furtherance of a nation-wide membership campaign now being conducted.
“We trust in the recognized standards of liberty and toleration here to save America from Hitlerism,” declared Dr. Rubinow, a prominent social economist.
Alfred M. Cohen, international president of B’nai B’rith, spoke of the work of the Anti-Defamation League and Eugene Warner, president of the Jewish Federation for Social Service, made a plea for new members. Benjamin D. Reisman, president of the local lodge, presided.
