A site for the erection of a central synagogue in Pera was selected by the Jewish community. Plans published indicate that the structure would cost 20,000 pounds and will have a seating capacity of 2,000.
Importance is attached to this announcement in view of the fact that the construction of the synagogue will be the first official act of the Jewish communnty since the revolution.
