Gratitude to Christians who risked their lives to save Jews during the Nazi regime in Europe was offered today by the National Council of Jewish Women assembled at its 18th triennial convention here.
In a resolution, the Council expressed, “the heartfelt appreciation” of the organization for the humanity and compassion on the part of non-Jews who, on innumerable occasions during the last nine years, showed courage and bravery to rescue Jewish men, women and children.”
Other resolutions adopted by the delegates called for the immediate control of atomic energy through the United Nations, and indorsement of measures designed to increase the efficiency of governmental functioning in order to further the democratic process. The convention also went on record in support of all measures to expand research, training and clinical facilities for the treatment of mental disorders.
