four-day convention of the American Jewish Congress, which will discuss problems concerning Jewish life in the United States and Palestine, will open tomorrow at the Hotel New Yorker here with Prof. Harold Laski, former chairman of the British Labor Party, as one of the principal speakers. He will discuss “The Prospects of the Jew in the Post-War World.”
The convention will adjourn Sunday afternoon but will resume the following day at the Jewish Community Center in Washington for a special “Palestine session” which will be addressed by members of both houses of Congress. Of the 1,200 dele-gates registered for the convention, some 500 will attend the Washington session.
