The Jewish education of Jewish girls has been neglected, it was charged here today at the eighth annual convention of the B’nai B’rith Girls, which is being held on the campus of the University of Illinois.
The charge was leveled during a discussion of: “Is our Jewish education preparing us for lives as Jews?” During the discussion it was decided that formal Jewish education must be “revitalized” in line with “progressive” methods used in general secular education. The B’nai B’rith Girls organization and Aleph Zadek ‘Aleph, the boys group, make up the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization.
