The Latin American Jewish Communities’ Southern Region convention adopted a resolution at its closing session declaring abiding solidarity with Israel’s fight for existence as a free and independent sovereign State. The resolution expresses the unanimous wish of the 120 delegates from seven countries represented at the conference for Israel’s success in her “unflinching effort to achieve peace in the Middle East and for the development of harmony among all peoples of that region.” The resolution also stated that Israel, and Jerusalem as the capital, remains the spiritual center of all the Jewish people.
