Convention of Jewish Women Asks Cooperation with Women of Other American Republics

The 18th triennial convention of the National Council of Jewish Women which is being held here, today adopted a resolution urging cooperation with women of other American republics to insure women their civil, political and economic rights in national and international affairs. The delegates also approved a $1550,000 budget for the continuation in 1947 of the organization’s overseas service program.

Among the resolutions adopted at today’s session of the convention were: endorsement of the principle of national health insurance; strengthening of government services for the arbitration and mediation of industrial disputes; and conclusion by the United States of trusteeship agreements with the United Nations, governing certain military installations outside its borders for security purposes, keeping such areas to a minimum and open to United Nations inspection.
