Three thousand dollars has so far been contributed to the Gashnofsky Memorial Fund in honor of the late Isaac B. Gashnofsky, rabbi at Ohio State Penitentiary for more than fifty years. The fund is to be used for loans and aid to prisoners upon their release in order to aid them in obtaining a new start in life.
Five hundreds dollars of the total thus far raised was contributed through the efforts of Charles Goldberg, one of the prison inmates, who obtained it by communicating with friends on the outside who sent him the money for the fund.
