Permanent cooperation among Jewish chaplains of the continental Allied forces was envisaged at a special conference of the Keren Hatorah. It was pointed out that many thousands of Jews were now serving with the Allied armies in Britain and overseas. Allied chaplains will work in closest cooperation with the senior Jewish chaplain of the United Kingdom, it was stated.

Among those participating in the conference were Major Melzer and Captain Klepfisz, Polish army chaplains, and Lieutenant Krausze, Czechoslovak army chaplain.

The first CZE nursery for Jewish children was opened today at Hemel-Hampstead by Lady Reading, who declared that “if our generation is to disappear, at least the children will remain alive to enjoy the better world.” A representative of the Ministry of Health praised the OZE’s work. The mayor promised the cooperation of the local authorities.
