A cornerstone was laid here today for the first planetarium to be built in the Middle East for educational and public uses.
The Institution will be erected on the grounds of the Hebrew University with funds donated by N.Z. Williams. The university plans to add an astronomy faculty to its staff, president Benjamin Mazar announced at the ceremonies, and to build an observatory near the planetarium.
