The cornerstone-laying ceremony of the House of Living Judaism of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations took place this afternoon. The building, which is now under construction here, was made possible by a gift from the late Dr. Albert A. Berg, noted surgeon and philanthropist, and by funds raised by the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods and will be known as the House of Living Judaism-Moritz and Josephine Berg Memorial.
Highlight of the ceremony was an imposing procession of congregational leaders from all parts of the country who deposited greetings from their congregations in the cornerstone. The procession was led by three-year-old Jonathan Wise, great grand-son of Isaac Mayer Wise, pionser leader of Reform Judaism in the United States.
