Samuel Maislish, the correspondent of the “Jewish Morning Journal” of New York, who was arrested on Tuesday, April 25 for spreading “atrocity reports”, will be tried within a month, it was announced today. Jewish leaders are arranging to provide counsel for his defense.
The “Jewish Morning Journal” has asked the State department in Washington to interfere in behalf of Maislish, who is a well known journalist and novelist, in residence in Berlin since 1919. Maislish is without citizenship. It s reported that the Amercan vice-consul in Berlin has asked for particulars of the case.
