The cost of living index rose by 5.5 percent in May, the lowest monthly increase for the past six months, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics Wednesday. Only last month, the rise was 6.2 percent. The Finance Ministry expressed satisfaction with the decline. But Histadrut Secretary General Yeruham Meshel noted that inflation is currently running at an annual rate of about 140 percent.
