The statement by Father Coughlin was made a few hours after Rabbi Stephen S. Wise had declared in a nationally broadcast radio address that his attack upon Jewish bankers was similar to that which started anti – Semitism in Germany.
“Because I attack a Catholic should I be called anti-Catholic? If I attack one Jew, should I be called anti-Jewish?” Rev. Coughlin asked.
